Question
After much planning, we finally made the climb to Mount Fuji for sunrise. The view was awesome. I said “Fujisan wa paafekuto (perfect) desu” to my Japanese friends but I don’t think that’s the way Japanese people say it. How do I say “Mount Fuji is perfect” in Japanese?

Indeed “paafekuto (perfect)” is not the best way to say ‘perfect’ in Japanese. You can try the following:

(1) 富士山(ふじさん)は最高(さいこう)です。
Fujisan wa saikoo desu.
Mount Fuji is the best.

(2) 富士山(ふじさん)はすごいです。
Fujisan wa sugoi desu.
Mount Fuji is awesome.

Although perfect can be translated as paafekuto or 完璧(かんぺき) kanpeki, it is not natural use either one. Saikoo or sugoi would sound more natural to a Japanese person. I hope you’ve enjoyed your climb.
