Question
It’s our first winter holiday in Japan and we have just checked in to a ski resort at Hakuba. We wanted to take ski lessons, but we are worried we won’t be able to understand the instructor if he starts speaking in Japanese. How do I ask the staff to recommend an English-speaking ski school in Japanese?

Answer by Professional Japanese Teacher
英語(えいご)のスキースクールを紹介(しょうかい)してください。
Eego no sukii sukuuru o shookai shite kudasai.
Please introduce an English-speaking ski school.
Japan is gaining popularity for skiing and a lot of foreigners are visiting Japan for skiing in recent years. You can use the above phrase to ask the hotel staff to recommend a ski school to you. Shookai means “to introduce”, so shookai shitekudasai is “please introduce”. Enjoy your holiday!
