Question
I’ve received more emails than usual due to rescheduling of meetings and business trips caused by the coronavirus outbreak.

How do I say “Thank you for the update” in Japanese when I want to reply to my Japanese clients?

Answer by Professional Japanese Teacher
(1) ご連絡(れんらく)ありがとうございました。
Gorenraku arigatoogozaimashita.
Thank you for your message.

(2) お知(し)らせいただき、ありがとうございました。
Oshiraseitadaki,arigatoogozaimashita.
Thank you for letting us know.

Update is “更新(こうしん) kooshin” in Japanese but it is not natural to say “更新(こうしん)ありがとうございました Kooshin arigatoogozaimashita” in Japanese. Try using the above expressions instead.
